Boatworks Mall - Dan Copeland

Dan Copeland is a California native with roots in blue’s, acoustic folk rock and country. Dan first picked up the guitar as a teenager. His early inspirations include Glen Campbell, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, and Willie Nelson. Dan plays guitar, National resonator guitar, bottleneck slide, mandolin, harmonica, and banjo. During the late seventies and early eighties he performed in the San Jose and Santa Cruz area’s as a soloist and as a part of a trio called Morning Sky. In the past twelve year’s he has studied Robert Johnson, Chris Smither’s , Muddy Water’s and Steve James, to name a few.

For the past twenty five years Dan has lived on the north shore of Lake Tahoe with his wife Janice. They own and operate The Tahoe Shoe Company and The Truckee Shoe Company, and have been in business for twenty five years. Dan has been playing in the Tahoe and Truckee area for the past ten years. He recorded a CD of original song’s which has received air play on KTKE radio in Truckee California. Dan has also performed with the Truckee Alliance for the Musical Arts. Dan covers music by Willie Nelson (which he sounds like even with your eye’s open), Neil Young and roots style blue’s. His original songs are filled with stories of travel, love, and discovery. His music will take you on a journey you will enjoy from start to finish. His style includes bottleneck slide, blues, and country. He frequently delves into open and alternate tunings to create a varied style and variety of music.

As West Shore locals, The Roamers are indeed a favorite in the Tahoe area– covering fun, feel-good rock and roll favorites by the Rolling Stones, Credence Clearwater Revival, and many other bands that conjure memories of fun.
